A memorable birthday

"Together Is The Nicest Place To Be"

A very happy and relaxing day today... Ken and I took leave to celebrate my birthday. We had dim sum at Bosses Restauran 黑社會 @ Vivo City, where they are well known for their signature flowing custard buns and queen of shao mai. We shopped at Page One, bought the above Precious Moments figurine with a gift voucher additional 10 + 15%. Followed by the "Planet of the Apes" movie and eating my smuggled in all time favourite Garett caramel popcorns! Popcorns never tasted the same after this! Happy birthday to me! ;)

Secret Garden Cupcakes

Loves this cupcakes. They are so sweet! I attended the baking class conducted by Shinni from BakinCalf and there is no turning back!

Macarons

My new found hobby.... Baking! I love to bake! Attended a macaron baking class and this is the end product of our teamwork of 4. Back home, I started buying baking accessories, a philips mixer (would love a kitchen aid though), flour, sugar, eggs and stuff.

My first attempt since the group baking. Not bad cos can see the feet and it's crispy outside, chewy inside with a generous helping of chocolate ganache.

2nd attempt and it's coffee cocoa macarons with Baileys irish cream filling. One of my favourites! My colleagues and mum loves it too!

Look forward to more colorful and pretty macarons in the near future ;)

Procrastinating

Tons and tons of things to do yet I never really had the energy and time to get to it...

There's a long list of things:

- Places to visit with the kids

- Wash the toilets

- De-clutter the house

- Blogging

- Kids growing up scrapbook (YX's journal still incomplete while I have yet to even start on JE's)

- Lapbooking on music and number addition/subtraction for YX

- Spring clean my laptop

Guess I'll start with my photos backup today into the new hard disk that hubby bought me. My current laptop is running low on space and I would be very upset should it crash on me and to lost all the photos taken over the past 4 years. Ok! Let's get to it now!!

Medela Freestyle

My Medela Freestyle has arrived via courier since my order 6 weeks agp. Yippee! I got it at around $480 (include courier $7). It's a good deal though there's no warranty since it's a imported set from states. During Takashimaya or Isetan sale, the pump is still selling from a range to $799 to 999.

Breakdown of my pump:

The risk? Should my pump breakdown, I can always get another new imported set =P

Week 32

At 32 weeks plus, baby #2's weighing 1.973kg and I've thus gained 10 kg to date. Another 8 more weeks to go!

3rd Trimester

8 more weeks and I'm DUE! Time flies for this pregnancy and having to cope with a demanding toddler is not easy. These days, I get breathless easily and stiff back and lots of braxton hicks. Not to mention the midnight bathroom runs to the toilet 3-4 times a night. I've gained 9 kg so far for the past 8 months. Hope I don't gain too much for the last few weeks. When I had YX, my total weight gain was only 8kg.

iPhone

Ken bought me an iPhone today. I got the iFlexi plan $56 (CS $50.40 exlude caller id) and phone at $248 but need to top up $100 more as my current existing plan is less than 21 months. We bought the extended 1 year warranty too ($89+) in case the battery do not last and a screen protector at $12. I feel guilty for having another luxury item and I said it's a waste. Ken's reply was "我问你。。 爱你是浪费吗？" What a sweetie DH was! Thanks, baby!

YX, my boy at 32 months old

Yu Xiang's getting more headstrong and wilful now at 32 months. When I say not to touch something, he's go ahead and touch more. He's chatty and conversed very well in mandarin. He loves books and always ask for more reading. Wish I had flash the Glenn Doman cards to him when he was younger. He could have master the words himself and can read on his own. Tends to rush things in a project. He wants to be independent and has a mind of his own. What we need to focus now is to build his character, inhibiting him with self control and self discipline.
